Kunst im Ver­hör

The Rus­si­an artist Pav­len­sky has beco­me known to the public with dis­tur­bing actions. And it is pre­cis­e­ly the waves that the­se actions make – the arrests, the tri­als and, of cour­se, the media covera­ge – that he under­stands as an inte­gral part of his radi­cal art. His own body, his life, Rus­si­an rea­li­ty and media atten­ti­on are the mate­ri­al he works with. „I only bring in an extre­me visu­al form what exists in socie­ty. Actual­ly, rea­li­ty is even more extre­me in the mat­ter.“
